The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), is seeking a Manager, Learning Administration, based in its Washington, DC office who will be responsible for achieving and furthering the successful training and professional development goals of CLIA through the delivery of high quality programs, products and services that meet the needs of members, prospective members, and other targeted audiences. This includes delivering and evaluating learning programs across multiple platforms and content areas; learning management system (LMS) management; processes development; and relationship management in a fast-paced environment of growth and change in support of revenue generation and member value proposition. The position, an exempt position, will report to the Director, Membership and Professional Development
Program Training and Facilitation
Serve as a CLIA Trainer of seminars and certificate programs at live training events including Cruise360.
Work closely with Cruise Line members to secure live and virtual ship inspections for CLIA’s live training events including Cruise360.
Manage CLIA’s Cruise360 Cruise Line showcases.
Provide program support to participants through online and live facilitation of skill development content, including but not limited to Executive Partner webinar management.
Manage live training event logistics and registration in partnership with Executive Partner and Events departments. Maintain “break even” data for each event.
Coordinate the research, content development and design of delegated live and online training.
Using Articulate Storyline, develop, update and/or edit online courses and quizzes.
Audit and test all online courses, quizzes and live seminars for accuracy; proof training materials for accuracy and proper format.
Manage participant skill application strategies via surveying and member communications to more effectively engage participants before and after programs.
Learning Management System (LMS)
Manage course, quiz and live training event content and functionality in LMS, on website and in online catalogs.
Troubleshoots LMS issues and serve as CLIA’s professional development subject matter expert when submitting issue tickets and working with our IT department. Identify areas of improvement in the back office and web facing for a more streamlined process and improved user experience.
Ensure the effective implementation, marketing/communication and maintenance of programs with a focus on revenue generation and to increase member engagement and participation.
Serve as a CLIA Career Counselor with regular office hours to assist members with one-on-one consulting on their professional development paths.
Manage the agent certification process by maintaining a working knowledge of all CLIA professional development opportunities and each certification’s requirements; process training registrations and agent submitted documentation (logbooks) toward obtaining certifications and developing and maintain the standard operating procedures in support of these processes.
Manage accreditation process for continuing education credits to be determined.
Field professional development and direct email inquiries, phone calls and voice messages regarding member training benefits, questions and concerns.
Answer inquiries promptly (based on defined timelines), professionally and efficiently. Ascertain the nature of the call to ensure it is handled properly and/or forwarded to the appropriate employee.
Facilitate and document (via minutes) professional development team meetings.
Oversee the assembly and mailing of training materials.
Contact agents when classes are cancelled, issue refunds and/or credits, etc.
Maintain electronic customer service and trainings logs and report out weekly
Maintain electronic and/or paper training documentation and materials
Bachelor’s degree required; post graduate education a plus
5 years of experience in professional development and/or training
3 – 5 years database management or high-level user experience, Aptify a plus
2+ years of experience in an association or nonprofit
1+ years of training and presentation experience
1+ years of experience developing content with Articulate Storyline
Familiarity with eLearning technology/multimedia/social media, LMS experience a plus
Program management and/or development experience a plus
Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills; demonstrated ability to collaborate with associates at all levels; passion for leadership and learning
Superior analytical skills and vendor management skills, relationship management experience a plus
Proven self-starter with the ability to manage time and independently work priorities
Exhibits supreme attention to detail and proficiency
Proven ability to multitask, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
