The Senior Manager, Membership will help lead the American Cleaning Institute’s (ACI or Institute) member services efforts, to include strategizing, planning, and implementing activities to promote member retention, growth, and engagement. This position will manage the day-to-day aspects of ACI’s membership activities, which includes building and enhancing regular contact with member company representatives, improving member participation in ACI activities, and identifying companies for recruitment as members. This position will lead efforts in implementing and managing the ACI Future Leaders Program, as well as manage the Regional ACI Member Connect Program.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL
The Senior Manager, Membership must possess strong business, marketing, writing, and oral communication skills, as well as have the ability to articulate the Institute’s mission and value to existing and potential members. This position requires sound judgement and superior administrative skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively to accomplish the Institute’s strategy. The Senior Manager, Membership must be experienced and confident in designing programs that support member retention, recruitment, and engagement. The person in this position must be comfortable interacting with individuals at all levels of an organization.
Manage the day-to-day activities to retain and grow Institute’s membership
Develop and maintain outreach to newer member companies to ensure consistent engagement with ACI programs and activities and expert committees and workgroups
Develop and manage process for regularly identifying member and potential member needs
Work with VP, Sustainability, Communications and Membership to develop marketing, communication, and advertising materials that better describe the value of membership in ACI
Work with finance team to manage membership dues process to ensure timely payment of dues
Develop and implement plans to target specific companies for recruitment as ACI members
Assist with execution of yearly survey of membership assessing membership value
Develop and enhance central repository of information on ACI member companies to broaden overall staff knowledge of ACI member product portfolios
Lead oversight of ACI membership database pertaining to additions and changes, and assist when necessary with occasional updates
Assist VP, Sustainability, Communications and Membership in enhancing communications with members, including weekly ACI SmartBrief newsletter
Develop regular mechanisms for providing excellent customer service, responding promptly to inquiries from ACI members, prospective members, Directors, and other stakeholders
Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in business, marketing, and/or other related field
Five plus years managing member service initiatives/programs in a non-profit trade association
Demonstrated ability to develop membership retention, recruitment, and engagement campaigns
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Proficient in maintaining a membership database
Ability to travel and work evenings/weekends, as necessary
Excellent communication, presentation, verbal, and writing skills
Demonstrated commitment to customer service and the ability to work collaboratively with internal team and member companies
Ability to think strategically
Extremely organized with strong attention to detail
Ability to meet deadlines
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to manage multiple projects
