Reporting to the Kidney Health Initiative (KHI) Manager, the KHI Assistant provides full-time administrative support for the Kidney Health Initiative, through effective organization, communication, IT and data management skills. The focus of this position is to provide administrative support for the successful annual cycle of KHI activities, including membership, project submission, meetings, core committees, and the KHI Board of Directors. The KHI Assistant will act as a liaison between the Kidney Health Initiative team and the ASN staff working in Washington, DC. The KHI Assistant works in close concert with the Project Director, Manager, Project Associate, Marketing and Communications Specialist, and ASN staff to achieve organizational and KHI goals.
Provide administrative support including:
Tracking project activities through the maintenance and management of appropriate tracking tools or databases
Creating and disseminating communications for staff, Board of Directors, and other stakeholders
Handling meeting logistics such as travel arrangements and hotel accommodations in coordination with ASN Meeting Team
Updating and maintaining project and membership databases
Maintains a database of contact information for KHI Membership, KHI Workgroups and Committee members
Assists with project submission process that takes place twice a year
Participates in routine staff meetings, project committee meetings as requested, and process review activities as assigned
Serves as staff liaison between the Kidney Health Initiative and Washington D.C-based ASN staff.
Assumes other duties assigned by the Project Director and Manager, as necessary and appropriate, to carry out the work of the Kidney Health Initiative
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in related field is required. Knowledge of medical terminology is desirable.
A minimum of 1 year of paid nonprofit experience is preferred
Strong analytical and attention to detail skills required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office required, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat and project management tools.
Experience with database management.
Experience working with government agencies is a plus.
High energy, positive attitude, able to work collaboratively and take initiative.
Strong verbal communication skills and writes clearly and concisely, using correct grammar and spelling.
