The Sales Manager will be primarily responsible for pursuing new advertising, and exhibit sales for our national conference and smaller venues. This is an inside sales position where much of the time is spent on the phone with our established client base. Customer service, contract processing and sponsorship sales are areas of responsibility. Occasional travel is required to our sponsored events and also to meetings associated with our core interests.

Develop new accounts and build rapport with established clients via phone calls, e-mail, letters, and occasional face-to-face meetings.
Follow up on marketing efforts with personal outreach to all current and potential customers.
Provide outstanding customer service support with rebooking of current exhibitors and sponsors. Field incoming calls and email inquiries and respond in a timely manner.
Assist with processing of all exhibitor and sponsor contracts, invoicing.
Manage collection, cancellation, changes and tracking payment process in relation to all exhibitors. Work with the other members of the publishing team to develop creative and effective sponsorship features.
Partner with the publishing team to development promotional materials and messaging.
Assist with onsite exhibitor and sponsor sales, service and support.
Coordinate with general exposition management, including floor design, booth assignment and implementation of exhibit contract policies.
Knowledge, skills and abilities Ability to organize, manage time and prioritize workload.
Strong oral and written communications skills.
Attention to deadlines and detail.
Ability to take initiative and work independently and creatively while functioning within a small team environment.
Knowledge of digital marketing venues.
Experience with ACT is strongly desired.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business, advertising/marketing, preferred.
Event management experience a plus.
Five years of successful sponsorship sales experience required.
The candidate should have a proven and demonstrable record of successful sponsorship sales and marketing and be knowledgeable in social media and digital marketing.
Additional Salary Information: Base salary plus commission on sales will be given.
