The American Urological Association (AUA), the premier association for the advancement of urologic patient care is seeking a professional Payroll Specialist.
This exciting, full-time position is responsible to:
Process semi-monthly payroll and prepares all related reports.
Maintains both payroll and benefit schedules to track timely pertinent data.
Prepares, understands and transmits 403(b), 457(b) & (f) and pension reports for direct debit from company checking account.
Reconciles all general ledger accounts relating to payroll.
Prepares numerous payroll and benefit schedules to be used for the annual budget for all departments.
Maintains monthly standard entries and recurring entries.
Provides support at the annual meeting, if needed.
Prepares quarterly MD sales and use tax filings and makes quarterly federal and state UBIT payments.
Other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will have the following job specifications:
BS/BA degree required with a concentration in Accounting preferred.
5-10 years experience in an accounting environment using automated accounting software. At least 2-3 years’ experience using ADP’s Workforce Now web platform (current release).
Analytical skills necessary to perform account reconciliations and analyze detailed account balances.
Excellent written and oral communication skills enabling effective communication with all levels of staff and all personalities.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
Available to travel each year for 5-7 days to the annual meeting, if needed.
