The Training & Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting department activities related to the use, delivery, content development, and promotion of WQA’s educational materials on water quality and POU/POE treatment. The main responsibilities focus on assisting users of WQA’s online Modular Education Program (MEP) with course selection, setting up user accounts, processing orders and renewals, monitoring user progress, and proactively contacting users to help maintain progress.
Assists customers interested in WQA educational programs in determining which training best fits their needs.
Processes MEP subscription orders, sets up users accounts in the TREK LMS, and processes subscription renewals.
Trains MEP users via Webinars and screen-sharing sessions on program usage and usage tips
Promotes a positive customer service experience by responding to questions and recommending appropriate changes to educational & training content that balance user feedback with educational and business goals.
Proactively monitors user progress through the MEP and contacts users at regular intervals to encourage program completion.
Works with the IT department to resolve software-related difficulties for end-users.
Works collaboratively with the Business Development (BD) department in identifying target customers.
Creates and maintains in WQA’s internal member database (Protech) courses, products, and MEP user progress information.
Provides the Professional Certification and Training Director and other departments with measurable metrics on the MEP program by compiling monthly reports regarding the performance of the program, including, number of new users, summary of progress for existing users, number of user completions, users who have not completed or stalled within the program and other key metrics related to program performance
Assists with assembly of convention education schedule and speaker and moderator coordination
Maintains the draft education schedule for the annual convention and contacts potential business and technical speakers for booking, as directed.
Acts as go-between with the Events department for speaker registration and compensation.
Maintains the online speaker center and coordinates pre-convention speaker activities such as speaker and presentation information collection.
Coordinates moderator assignments and the creation and distribution of moderator scripts
Assists with the management of the education program at the annual convention.
Works in the WQA booth to promote WQA’s distance learning programs and answer user questions.
Assists in the organizing and coordination of technical training sessions at local, regional, national and international meetings, events and conventions for Professional Certification and Training.
Works collaboratively with the Marketing and Communications team to provide promotional content for WQA’s educational and training offerings.
Implements content edits in the online Knowledge base and online training courses using Articulate Storyline and maintains the course catalog in the TREK LEM system, as assigned by the Professional Certification and Training Director.
Organizes project management tools such as action plans, flow charts and RACI charts for new training initiatives and existing training updates
Acts as staff liaison, observer and/or administrator for internal and external committees and task forces as assigned by the Professional Certification and Training Director. Arranges committee meetings and conference calls, takes minutes and disseminates meeting minutes and agendas.
Participates and/or observes technical activities for opportunities for education and research, as needed.
Documents training department SOPs, as requested.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree, required. Degree in a Physical Science discipline, preferred.
Excellent customer service experience, required.
Some experience in teaching, training, educational program design, or public speaking
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
Effective written and oral communication skills
Experience with Articulate Storyline or similar, preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
Demonstrated knowledge of Google Drive and related apps, preferred
Some computer programming experience, preferred
Candidate should complete the MEP Basics and Fundamentals modules, as assigned, within 1 year of hiring)
