To provide professional and administrative assistance to the President/CEO in achieving the goals of Anixter Center’s Executive Office.
Taking detailed minutes is a must and ability to work with board members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to:
Assistance to the President and Executive Office
Perform routine office duties: schedule appointments and meetings, including one-on-one meetings with President’s direct reports; maintain calendars; greet visitors; screen/handle phone calls with discretion; coordinate travel arrangements; compose letters, take dictation and transcribe material.
Handle all office responsibilities (mail, supplies, files, etc.). Keep record of expenditures.
Serve as the President’s primary liaison with senior managers, staff, volunteers and the community at large.
Serve as a designated representative, as needed, at specified external meetings.
Coordinate special projects which frequently involve the organization’s senior managers.
Problem solve and initiate solutions; do research as needed and serve as a resource to President.
Participate with the President and other senior managers in organizational development, policies and procedures development and problem resolution.
Respond to routine inquiries as delegated by the President.
Perform other duties as assigned by the President.
Assistance to Board of Directors, Corporate Leaders and Executive Management
Serve as a contact with organizations, Board of Directors and corporate leaders.
Schedule meetings, make arrangements, prepare agendas, take and transcribe minutes, follow up, etc.
Coordinate meeting logistics and handle inquiries related to Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and all Board committees, including Audit & Finance Committee, Investment Committee, Program Quality Committee, Resource and Development Committee, and Real Estate Committee.
Assist in coordinating board and committee meetings, retreats and conferences.
Support the CEO, CFO and other leadership on the boards and committees referenced above.
Schedule other meetings and assist as requested.
Learn and advise on the governance rules of the Board.
Assist with any difficult inquiries. Problem solve and initiate solutions. Serve as resource to volunteers and staff as well as mentor to staff.

Accurately scheduling and performing necessary functions such as making appointments, travel and meeting arrangements; and

INTERACTION (Internal and External): All internal staff, volunteers, and community leaders.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS (required education, years of experience, skills and abilities): Bachelor’s degree, plus one-year specialized training with a minimum of five years’ experience in a related field including at the executive office level reporting to a CEO and a minimum of three years’ experience working with a Board of Directors. Thorough knowledge of Word®, Excel® and Outlook® with working knowledge of PowerPoint® and Visio®.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS (sitting, standing, lifting, etc.): Incumbent must be able to sit at computer for long periods of time, lift at least 20 lbs. Use hands for purpose of typing, lifting and answering phones and taking messages.
Taking detailed minutes (must be reflected in your resume): 1 year (Required)
Specialized training in Microsoft Office: 1 year (Required)
Executive administrative level support (VP and/or CEO): 5 years (Preferred)
