Equipped with a nuanced understanding of LGBT+ issues both in the United States and around the world, the ideal candidate will be personally invested in Out Leadership’s mission. They will use their skills to become experts on bringing our insights and innovative LGBT+ business development solutions to our clients. Building relationships and understanding the needs of our clients will be critical. They will work with executive teams around the world to build extensive professional engagement while tapping into leadership networks of LGBT+ and Ally leaders.
The Membership Manager will work directly with our member companies. Member companies join Out Leadership to gain access to our extensive global network of C-Suite leaders, major multinational companies, the most senior LGBT+ and Ally business leaders, and emerging LGBT+ leaders. We provide groundbreaking insights, content, talent initiatives, and opportunities for our member companies to build business and engage globally across many industries.
Membership relationship management
Serve as primary point-of-contact to engage Out Leadership member companies
Organize membership programs, activities, developments, policies, and relations designed to increase membership
Update and distribute information to current members
Oversee membership customer services process or system
Service client questions and requests regarding membership benefits, LGBT+ business best practices, connections to and engagement with other member companies, etc.
Create a variety of regular communications to member companies around events and opportunities (i.e. monthly updates, invitations, speaking opportunities, hosting opportunities, etc.)
Manage membership database and track membership engagement around Out Leadership events and initiatives and follow-up as necessary
Organize and participate in high-level meetings with Out Leadership member companies
Secure and liaise with hosts for membership meetings, including: creating meeting agendas, presentation decks and compiling supporting materials
Input and maintain member company and prospect client data in CRM platform
Input membership and advisory revenue opportunities in the pipeline
Map and track member company business lines and connectivity, where it exists, to other member firms
Capture what member companies want Out Leadership to share about them and how these firms wish to interpret their commitment to workplace equality and inclusion
Input and track member company ROI and prepare summaries for members at the end of the year
Provide support to the Founder & Principal around member company engagements, including: gathering event information, creating presentation decks, etc.
Create welcome/renewal member communications and post-event content follow-ups.
Map major connections and points of engagement within Out Leadership member companies
Membership business support, with the Director of Sales:
Continually focus on the retention of members throughout the year and in advance of renewal conversations with current member companies. Lead the process through preparing, sending, and tracking follow-ups
Draft membership business supporting documents, as needed
Support business development opportunities, with the Director of Sales:
Proactively ensure that member companies are aware of opportunities for further engagement around Out Leadership’s events and initiatives around the globe
Develop customized proposals for member companies to engage through sponsorship in Out Leadership’s talent accelerators, executive events, and new geographic initiatives
Prepare tailored communication for prospective companies to engage in our work
Provide general administrative support to the broader Out Leadership team, as needed
The Membership Manager reports to the Chief Operating Officer and works closely with the rest of the Out Leadership team, particularly the:
Communications team on event-related communications and member company visibility
Global Initiatives team regarding member company participation in global summits and events
Sales to connect member companies to more opportunity through sponsorship and heightened engagement in our programs
Talent Accelerators team around member company participation for Out Leadership’s OutNEXT, OutWOMEN, and Quorum events

This includes helping to maintain a tidy and professional shared workspace, staffing summits and events, identifying and supporting revenue-generating opportunities, and creatively contributing to strategic brainstorming sessions.

A robust analytical and problem solver, proactively looks to scale projects and cultivate new opportunities
Deadline driven while paying close attention to detail
An analytical problem solver grounded in quantitative and qualitative methodologies
Apt at effectively translating ideas into actionable recommendations
Organized and effective at multi-tasking; capable of prioritizing many projects at once to nail every deadline
A strong communicator with verbal, written and presentation skills
Skilled at using Google’s business suite, Microsoft Office and social media platforms
The ideal candidate will possess:
A bachelor’s degree (or greater)
Professional experience, preferably working with senior business executives and their staffs
Experience with Salesforce, Asana, Qualtrics, and Adobe Creative Cloud is preferred
A shared commitment to Out Leadership’s mission and values
Demonstrated sensitivity and respect for the cultural values, practices, beliefs, and social experiences of diverse communities
A background (or proven interest) in the for-profit sector
Specific experience in business process, the talent life-cycle, and diversity and inclusion preferred
Additional Salary Information: Out Leadership offers competitive compensation commensurate with experience, including a competitive benefits package with paid time off, 401(K) with a 4% employer match, and a 90% covered health plan.
