The Financial Planning Association (FPA) is seeking a Membership Manager to lead the FPA Membership Program, consisting of both providing an indispensable experience to retain the organization’s more than 22,000 members and attracting new members to join FPA.
The Membership Manager will drive positive outcomes, both quantitative and qualitative, in overall recruiting and retention for FPA, in addition to focusing on introducing new strategies and adjusting existing programs for key subsets of members, including new CFP® professionals, early stage financial planners, experienced planners, students, academics and non-planners who support the profession. The Membership Manager will also work closely with core FPA teams, such as Marketing and Membership, Strategic Partnerships, Member Engagement, Advocacy, Communities, Education/Learning, Chapter Engagement and the Journal of Financial Planning editorial team, to seamlessly integrate membership into every facet of the association.
Other responsibilities will include:
Ongoing review and audit of the FPA membership (recruiting and retention) messaging strategy, adjusting tactics, timing and audiences as frequently as is necessary
Equal focus on bolstering and implementing structured programs around member acquisition and member retention
Working with the OneFPA Team Lead to help develop and facilitate opportunities to integrate the value of local FPA chapters in membership messaging and touches
Communicating the membership value proposition to existing and prospective members, including targeting messages and programming to key stakeholders and constituents
Working with the Member Engagement Team Lead to help gather relevant customer service insights to drive decision-making around features, benefits and programs
Working with the Marketing and Membership Team on the creation and development of digital content, imagery, printed collateral and messaging designed to deliver and cement the FPA value proposition
Plugging into and analyzing membership-related data from across the organization to promote innovation and adjustment based on actionable intelligence
Designing and implementing meaningful recognition programs focused on loyalty, longevity and participation/engagement
Development and management of the FPA membership budget

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in association management, business, marketing or a related field
5+ years of membership and/or association management experience
