Downtown nonprofit association near Metro seeks an Administrative Assistant to the Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Public Health. The Administrative Assistant Fellowship is designed to provide an overview of the scholarly journal publishing process for students currently enrolled in an MPH program. The Fellow will provide daily administrative and editorial support to the Editor-in-Chief of the journal, invite articles for submission and evaluation, and provide input on social media–related activities. This is a part-time, temporary position, for 1 year, with the option for continuation at the recommendation of the Editor-in-Chief and approval of the Executive Director of the American Public Health Association (APHA).
Advanced degree in Public Health preferred, Bachelor’s Degree in Science- or Medical-related field required. One year of experience in scientific publishing environment. Excellent project management and written/oral communication skills, proficiency in the MAC/PC environment, strong organizational ability, and attention to detail is a must..
Hours: 20 hours a week, part-time, Monday thru Friday. Number of openings: 1. (This is not a telework position)
