Chapter Relations, Education and Training, Meetings/Expositions/Events
The Vice President leads strategy and execution to bring value to the ASID community. Specifically, the VP will understand our customer and community needs through market evaluation, member assessment, and member/customer feedback in order to deliver innovative solutions (products, education, and programs) that validate the benefits of belonging to the ASID community. The VP will remain on the cutting edge of emerging trends in associations to shape the strategies that increase growth and drive revenue.
Execute against an existing long-term strategy as it relates to products and community/chapter engagement with a focus on customer and revenue growth.
Define and execute on a product roadmap for communities and membership.
Provide leadership and support for the design, development and implementation of education and certificate products including in-person meetings, conferences, and on-line training.
Provide leadership and support for the development and implementation of student recruitment, conferences, and engagement with a goal of significantly increasing student membership.
Provide leadership, annual training, and relationship management for our national volunteer chapter leadership teams.
Manage chapters in accordance with by-laws and policies to include elections, financials and board governance.
Lead a staff team and a number of volunteer committees and task forces.
Provide for project schedules, budgets, financials, metrics, and data management.
Visit member communities and schools, speak at events, prepare and deliver webinars, write content for e-newsletters and event websites and prepare Board reports as required.
Proven leadership in the association/non-profit space with a focus on product development, national/community alignment and volunteer leadership.
Minimum of 10 years of experience leading the development and execution of product and community strategies.
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) or equivalent experience in business, marketing, or a related field;
Experience in product development, product management, and project management methodologies.
Demonstrated experience in multi-year strategic planning around products and/or organizations to increase value resulting in growth.
Experience with online learning systems and certification structures.
Experience with creating and managing national conferences.
Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to actively listen, elicit information, comprehend customer issues/needs and recommend solutions; ability to navigate and respond to sensitive/difficult situations.
Demonstrated experience successfully partnering cross-functionally to achieve outcomes.
Flexible, motivated, creative, innovative and goal oriented.
Excellent communicator with the ability to speak to any size/level audience and to write business, creative and educational content.
Capability of motivating volunteers and promoting ASID brand.
Preferred familiarity or involvement with the interior design profession and related industries.
