Position: STS National Database Manager - Informatics Reports to: Senior Manager, STS National Database Status: Exempt Type: Full-time
Job Summary Manage informatics initiatives for the STS National Database, including data and software specification upgrades, performance measure specifications, and standardization of data elements to facilitate data linkages. Provide subject matter expertise in clinical informatics and applied health technology solutions. Work with volunteer cardiothoracic surgeons, cardiologists, and anesthesiologists on STS governance bodies associated with the STS National Database.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Education Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s in Healthcare Information Technology is preferred. Experience Minimum of five years of related work experience implementing healthcare technology in a clinical environment is required, including experience implementing interoperability frameworks and tools such as FHIR, APIs, CDAs, and HL7 Messages. Knowledge of medical terminology and databases, preferably in cardiology or cardiothoracic surgery. Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and other healthcare technology.
