This role is to develop and deliver an actionable membership engagement strategy (individual, group, corporate, domestic, international etc.) in support of the organization’s strategic plan and digital transformation. The role sets strategy, delivers on member recruitment, retention and engagement and delivers other valuable assets to the association communities. Requires strong coordination with communications, marketing, governance, international and business development teams. The role has significant member/volunteer interaction, serving as key executive to component state associations, various task forces, awards committees, and volunteer councils.
Membership engagement of individuals and corporate entities.
Sets strategy using personas and member segments to understand and drive engagement, domestic and internationally. Coordinates with business development, digital marketing and communications team to implement an omnichannel strategy.
Responsible for membership revenue, positive ROI for AHIMA, budgeting and financial management. Owns the membership model (individual, group, corporate, partner). Responsible for driving membership recruitment and retention while using metric tracking and data to make business decisions.
Responsible for member database, quality and accuracy.
Strategies and operations relating to association councils, volunteer engagement and award program planning.
Bachelor’s degree. Advanced educated beyond bachelor’s degree is highly desired
10+ years of progressive association and/or membership engagement experience with at least 3 years in a senior management capacity
Strong preference for individuals with specific experience working within and/or managing a membership function of a global association.
Experience as executive liaison to external professional groups; board experience preferred.
Experience with digital and content marketing principles and tactics, adapting them to unique association environment.
CAE designation highly desired
Experience managing a member operation of at least $10M (domestic, international) preferred
Ability to manage crisis or high visibility situations effectively
