The Manager, Data Science & Process Improvement helps EO and the Communications team ensure that the gathering and statistical analysis of both EO member and external entrepreneur data contributes to and enhances organizational decision-making, strategy development, member value delivery, and editorial content strategy. The incumbent contributes to evaluating EO processes and making recommendations for process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs. In addition, the Manager contributes to the ongoing data aggregation within the EO business intelligence platform and carries out regression analysis when predictive results are needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Contributes to the planning, execution, and implementation of EO surveys and to providing insights for planning-meeting reports.
Collaborates with a variety of EO departments and cross-departmental teams and supports the work of the VP, Insight & Analysis, including providing materials and support for staff data group decision-making.
Work within the Insight & Analysis team and with other teams/departments to coordinate the design of data analytics projects and surveys to meet the needs of the organization, fostering more consistent and coordinated practices in data gathering.
Contribute to the planning and execution of the Chapter Pulse and Member Pulse surveys in the EO survey platform.
Use advanced statistical analysis and big data tools to predict future business outcomes and membership risks/expectations down to the individual member level.
Implement Lean Six Sigma methodologies to improve processes across the organization.
Tap publically available data sets on entrepreneurial issues/trends to contribute to entrepreneurial insights gathering, and, if a consultant is used, work with the outside consultant to help optimize their work.
Produce insights and analyses for inclusion in State of EO reports to help underpin EO’s strategic decision-making during the annual planning cycle.
Serve on the staff Data Group and provide materials and support for Data Group decision-making.
Ensure the proper tracking of data across Communications’ digital platforms and maintain department dashboards.
Collaborate across departments to implement strong tracking and goal setting for EO metrics.
Serve as a reviewer of the data analysis and reporting work of other Insight & Analysis staff.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree in analytics, statistics, and marketing, or relevant field, Master’s Degree in subject matter that required statistical analysis preferred.
3-5 years’ work experience in data analytics, marketing/communications or technology teams, business information/analysis team experience preferred.
Project management experience.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, vlookup and macros.
Experience tracking and analyzing metrics and generating reports.
Ability to leverage software tools to automate work tasks and processes.
Experience with statistical programming languages such as R, Stata, SPSS, Python.
Demonstrated experience working on a business intelligence (BI) platform, advanced knowledge of Domo, Tableau, Qlikview or Microsoft BI a plus.
Experience with SQL programming language
Experience producing formal written reports for executive officers.
Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles preferred.
Experience working with volunteers and bi-multilingual skills preferred.
The employee is normally required to work in a high-rise building equipped with elevators in an environment where the noise level is usually moderate. May be assigned to an internal work space without windows to the outside, located in close proximity to other office personnel.
