We are currently seeking a Manager, Events Marketing in our office in Houston.
ASME’s Manager, Events Marketing is responsible for spearheading ASME’s efforts to grow audience and revenue for our technical events and conferences. Our ideal candidate is a driven, creative and proactive marketer who excels at bringing together professional audiences face-to-face to learn, network, and grow their careers. This role requires someone who is a versatile marketer adept with research, copywriting, analysis and reporting, as well as branding, creative development and digital marketing.
In this role, you will be responsible for crafting the messaging and positioning for your assigned events, which may be in the areas of manufacturing, robotics, bioengineering, clean energy or pressure technology. You will be the expert in the needs of our current and prospective attendees, how they buy and their buying criteria, and will apply that knowledge to attract the right attendees to events.
In addition, you will be responsible for developing the event marketing strategy to achieve business objectives such as revenue, delegate sales, and sponsorship/exhibitor sales. You will conceive and oversee innovative and measurable multi-channel marketing programs that drive demand and support any channel partners. You will be responsible for telling the world (and company) the story of our events. You will be expected to be our chief advocate of each assigned event and its benefits. The chosen candidate must be able to work independently and execute campaigns for multiple conferences simultaneously to drive qualified conversions and hit revenue targets.

Ideal candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or relevant field and 8 or more years’ marketing experience with at least 3-4 years at the marketing manager level specifically in events, tradeshows, and exhibitions. In addition, candidate must have:
Proven ability to launch successful campaigns
Experience creating programs using enterprise level marketing automation platforms, audience growth software, CRM systems, webinar platforms, ESPs, content management systems and mobile apps
Knowledge of SEO/SEM and Google Analytics
Experience building and overseeing budgets, paid digital campaigns, vendors and platforms
Desire to explore and proactively surface new distribution channels and products
Proven experience as the lead marketer for new event launches preferred
