Position Purpose: Lead AACE’s Marketing and Engagement activities. Promote and position AACE as the leader and expert in clinical endocrinology by creating a cohesive voice for the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Board of Directors. Along with AACE senior leadership, develop a business plan to which marketing and communications support and deliver business goals. Lead, develop and implement a membership engagement recruitment and retention strategy, including the development of corresponding materials and communications. This position does not require ability to work in Jacksonville, FL, telecommuting is permitted.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as marketing leader for all internal teams, driving goals and optimizing analytics, with ability to counsel on marketing fundamentals but also guide tactical planning.
Create and manage implementation of the marketing and communications plan and ensure the marketing plan for AACE’s education, membership and event programs are strategically linked to the business plan.
Responsible for identifying and managing internal and external communication initiatives and supporting and promoting AACE’s global brand.
Collaborate with the branding team and support the implementation of the AACE brand story.
Position members as thought leaders for the benefit of AACE and its members. Drive multi-channel media opportunities highlighting member expertise and AACE resources to local, state-wide and national platforms.
Serve as leader, primary writer and editor for both internal and external communications. Write crisp, concise and engaging content in a variety of styles, including editorial and marketing/promotional for web, digital, and print materials.
Oversee diverse projects including business and tactical planning and authoring content including executive talking points, brand value proposition, membership communications, and products and services communications.
Provide day to day oversight, guidance and collaboration to associated marketing and membership staff and vendor partners.
Lead and develop membership strategy including, recruitment and retention campaigns targeted at specific segments.
Lead annual membership renewal campaign and guide Association Management System (AMS) technology and processes.
Utilize the AMS to track and assess community and member behavioral patterns to understand the needs and preferences to influence content development.
Collaborate with staff, physician leaders and corporate partners to develop compelling content for the web, and social media and other digital platforms.
Establish and ensure maintenance and compliance of website content standards and corporate style guide.
Prepare briefing materials and provide support as needed when executing media requests.
Ensure that the AACE brand and content guidelines are consistently used within AACE, the AACE chapters and with strategic partners.
Review monthly analytics reports for digital/CRM and marketing performance metrics and provide optimization efforts to team members.
Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English, health communications, marketing or related discipline.
Minimum ten (10) years of proven membership and marketing association management experience at a senior level.
Ability to supervise, lead and coach staff as assigned.
Experience working with 3rd party customer service and marketing required.
Must provide a portfolio of work: published articles in organizational newsletters, emails, website copy, marketing materials, etc.
Experience reviewing Google Analytics and digital performance reports; comfortable interpreting results.
Experience with a variety of association based technology systems such as AMS, CMS, etc.
Experience with CRM and emails programs (SalesForce, MailChimp, Constant Contact, etc.).
Confident, productive, creative writer who is proficient in AP style and willing and able to adopt and follow in-house style.
Strategic thinker, able to problem solve and manage conflicting edits and opinions, as well as to translate complex content for multiple audiences.
Exceptional communication skills to collaborate with and build consensus among diverse stakeholders at levels.
Possess integrity, credibility, and commitment to the mission and vision of AACE.
Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, driving towards clarity and solutions.
Some travel will be required.
