The Director, Member Services plays an integral role in leading the association’s member recruitment operation and engagement of Core, Ally and Sports Betting Task Force members. Reporting to the Vice President Strategic Alliances, and in partnership with the AGA strategic alliances team, this leader works to advance the association’s mission of being the single most effective champion of casino gaming by building a diverse, active membership, supports AGA’s family of Global Gaming Expo (G2E) events and diversifies AGA’s revenue through development of new business development opportunities.
The ideal candidate possesses a substantial background in association membership activities, has a track record of revenue growth and ability to create and manage new products and processes. Strong writing and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, also required.
Key areas of responsibility:
Oversee AGA’s member recruitment efforts including identifying, tracking and solicitation.
Identify potential new members through research, referrals and targeted opportunities.
Engage AGA senior leadership team including CEO, Senior Vice Presidents and Vice Presidents, where appropriate, throughout member development process.
Work closely with Sr. Director of Finance to ensure budgeted revenue collections occur and develop plans should changes be required.
Identify new verticals and opportunities to drive membership as the industry continues to evolve and modernize.
Develop new membership opportunities through use of AGA assets which could include subscription to AGA member portal, research engagements, coalition building or sponsorship of key events.
Ensure that business development initiatives are consistent with the association’s mission.
Identify and pursue bold new service offerings with a proven case for creating member value.
New Member Management
Manage initial member onboarding process including populating contact forms and applications, disseminating new member contact information and entering contacts into database.
Ensure a streamlined transition and handoff to the Member Relations team.
Manage initial member AGA engagement to develop a long-term member relationship.
Develop processes to ensure that new members are engaged and risks identified.
Ensure new members take advantage of benefits associated with their membership including attendance at AGA member-only meetings, AGA summits, G2E and other key member engagements.
Support AGA industry services and partnership teams on events including AGA Sports Betting Executive Summit and G2E initiatives with a focus on new revenue opportunities.
Provides support for driving attendance to current and future G2E events.
Manage day-to-day responsibilities for AGA ally members including member engagement, fulfillment of opportunities at events including G2E and Sports Betting Executive Summit and manage dues invoicing/collections process.
Work in collaboration with Director, Partnerships to identify and engage ally members as potential partners.
Manage AGA Sports Betting Task Force membership including engagement and onboarding with eye towards conversion to core AGA membership.
Assist Vice President Strategic Alliances with member engagement and industry insight into current and potential projects.
Develop strong, personal relationships with current and potential members to strengthen AGA ties within industry.
Support marketing/communications efforts to increase awareness and engagement of current and potential members and constituents.
Contribute regular updates relating to membership with AGA leadership and broader staff.
Identify new benefit opportunities and ideas to improve engagement through discussions with current and potential members.
Experience & Education:
Bachelor’s Degree required.
At least 6 years of experience with a history of progressive achievement and advancement in an association environment.
A history of growing revenues in the areas of events, partnership/sponsorship, membership and other related programs and services.
Demonstrated excellence and ease with all aspects of leading a “go-to market” business plan.
Strong negotiating skills.
