JOB SUMMARY: Provides day-to-day operational responsibilities in all HR areas including recruiting, employee relations, performance management, training and development, policy/procedure interpretation and development, compensation, and special projects. Ensures compliance with Federal and State regulations. Assists in the budgeting process and in developing departmental goals and systems.
Manages the recruiting process for open positions.
Meets with hiring managers to determine cost effective methods to fill positions.
Composes and places all job postings; screens resumes; interviews candidates; checks references, extends job offers.
Conducts 60 and 90 day follow up sessions with new employees.
Provides quarterly statistics for new hires, terminations and turnover.
Conducts exit interviews.
Provides guidance and counseling to Supervisors regarding employee relations issues.
Provides coaching advice to employees on various issues.
Works with Supervisors to develop written documentation relating to warnings and Performance Improvement Plans. Follows up to ensure meetings occur.
Works with external legal counsel on problematic issues.
Keeps log of employee relations issues and resolutions.
Training & Development
Researches training solutions and previews programs for staff and management levels.
Responsible for securing Anti-Harassment training on an annual basis.
Designs, develops and presents training programs.
Trains employees on policies, performance management, etc.
Advises employees and Supervisors regarding Continuing Education (CE) program and Tuition Reimbursement Program.
Researches, develops and recommends new policies as necessary. Works with Legal to finalize policies.
Advises managers and employees on policy interpretation.
Ensures new and/or revised policies are communicated across the organization; coordinates with communications to update information on SOA Connect.
Works with Legal on international employee contracts.
Researches performance management solutions and recommends programs.
Educates Supervisors and employees on the performance management process.
Reviews completed performance appraisals for clarity and consistency.
Provides appropriate data to the Executive Director for annual Performance Reviews.
Performs job analysis. Evaluates and grades positions including making recommendations for merit and promotional increases.
Participates in appropriate salary surveys.
Works with external compensation vendors to market price positions. Reviews results and makes recommendations.
Writes and updates job descriptions. Initiates job description review and revisions with Supervisors
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (an equivalent amount of training, education and experience will be considered)
A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field or the equivalent amount of experience
Five to seven years of professional experience in Human Resources working in a generalist capacity
Human Resources designation is strongly preferred (SPHR preferred)
Requires PC literacy with an aptitude for understanding technology and how it can be applied to bring value add to Human Resources. Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including strong proficiency with Excel

Experience using the ADP system, ADP’s Applicant Tracking Module preferred
