Who we are looking for:
A highly skilled Graphic Designer to join ASCO’s Marketing and Communications department. The selected candidate will provide the department with creative support, collateral development, digital design, and project trafficking for all graphic-related services that support the branding imagery and messaging of the organization’s full spectrum of products and services.
What you will do:
Create high-level graphic design plans for products, programs, and services that establish ASCO as an innovative partner with its members and the oncology community
Graphically communicate concepts by designing layout of art and copy for association-related activities, products and events
Establish workflow and process communication procedures for graphic design function that highlights quality assurance and budgetary adherence
Work closely with the MarCom team to design, produce and catalogue omni-channel creative assets across both print and digital platforms, with consistency and an eye for detail
Prepare design files and technical specifications for vendors or internal stakeholders, to be used in various marketing and related campaigns
Serve as MarCom staff liaison providing artistic vision between internal stakeholders and outside vendors, and communicate project recommendations and timely updates as necessary
Bring effective visual ideas through concept, design and implementation, while maintaining visual brand guides and templates
Collaborate and manage vendor relationships for graphical elements developed by or in partnership with third parties
Design and update a wide range of digital and print collateral including graphics, logos/identifiers, ads, brochures, email headers, templates, corporate materials, signage, website and social media platforms
What you will need in order to be successful:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in graphic design, fine arts, or related field
At least 3-5 years of professional graphic design experience in either an agency or in-house environment
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), established design systems and brand guidelines, Dropbox, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, HTML
Strong aesthetic sense and awareness of brand identity
Experience in print and digital production – ability to prepare, export, and send files
Ability to multi-task under tight deadlines, have a solid understanding of design principles and tools, and demonstrate attention to detail
Positive attitude, excellent work ethic, strong communication skills with an ability to take constructive feedback
Ability to manage multiple projects from different teams with different working styles and expectations
Ideal candidates will contribute:
Previous experience using a Digital Asset Management System (DAMS)
Experience creating videos and/or animation
Previous experience working in Associations or Medical/Health industry
