We are seeking a candidate for the Manager, Public Policy position in Alexandria, VA. This position is responsible for providing support on legislative and regulatory issues affecting the senior living industry at the federal and state levels. Responsibilities will include monitoring and tracking legislative priorities, researching current trends affecting the senior living industry, supporting programmatic interests of Argentum, and liaising with members of Congress and their staff, the White House, federal agencies, state legislators and relevant non-governmental organizations.

Specific responsibilities include:

1. Routine management of legislative tracking tool (FiscalNote) to monitor federal and state legislative activities, including analyzing proposed bills and regulations, preparing summaries and issue briefs
2. Liaison between the association and Congressional offices, the Administration, relevant agencies, and other relevant organizations
3. Maintain relationships with Congressional staff through in person and/or phone/web meetings, and various communication methods
4. Supporting the execution of the association’s policy priorities, to include:

• • Assistance with various congressional Fly-Ins
  • Attend political events held in conjunction with the association’s political action committee, Silver PAC, to convey the association’s priorities
  • Attend congressional hearings, conferences, and events
  • Communicate the activities of Congress and the Administration to the association’s membership, through written materials to include policy memos, newsletters, factsheets, and summaries

This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Public Affairs.
