The Senior Education Manager, Programs and Compliance is responsible for overseeing various live and online education programs. Plans live courses from conception to completion. Oversees online programs, including webinars, (enduring and live), Self-Assessment Neurosurgery Exams (SANS), online courses, and other new initiatives. Responsible for research and development of new educational opportunities. Collaborates with IT to assure online education systems meet the needs of the organization. Manages ACCME compliance and implementation to meet the evolving needs of CNS target audiences. Manages and maintains all necessary Continuing Medical Education (CME) records for online activities and provides support to the Education Committee and any related subcommittees or work groups.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Works with IT to ensure online solutions meet the requirements of the Education Division and its subcommittees.
Oversees ACCME compliance for all activities.
Oversees the production of SANS products and works with IT as needed.
Liaison to the Education Division.
Liaison to staff and volunteers involved in planning Continuing Medical Education programs including proper documentation via action steps timelines, planning worksheets, practice gap identification and learning objective review and/or development.
Responsible for overseeing faculty/speaker/moderator correspondence, rehearsals, budgeting and ancillary services as primary liaison for all online CNS educational activities. This includes program invitation, acceptances/declines, disclosures, faculty presentation review, and ongoing correspondence.
Prepares and/or proofreads content for disclosure slides, course handouts, advertisements, programs, e-blasts, and other communication for all CNS educational activities and Liaison to the Marketing Department for this purpose.
Program management to include RFP process, budgeting, vendor contract negotiation, reconciliation, historical tracking as well as ancillary services for programs as assigned.
Manages site research and recommendations, hotel and venue coordination, meeting specifications, onsite logistics (including but not limited to temporary staff, shuttle and destination management companies) for programs as assigned.
Manages compliance documentation efforts of ACCME self-study reports, activity files and accreditation survey and maintains CME related policies, procedures, processes, and program development documentation for selected programs.
Responsible for overseeing report compilation and back-up evidence for ACCME annual report in PARS.
Supports the Programs and Communication Department as needed in support of all programs.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Minimum two years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a medical/physician association.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to develop a cohesive team and utilize the diverse abilities of staff is preferred.
Experience with database management and learning management systems is required.
Strong computer skills required, including expertise with Microsoft suite of software: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Proficient in use of internet.
Knowledge of instructional design and adult learning principles is preferred.
Experience with ACCME accreditation criteria and standards as well as self-study and review.
Ability to effectively interact, collaborate and manage volunteer leaders and their projects.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment and tact.
Excellent writing, grammatical, and proofreading skills required.
Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills required.
