The International Society of Explosives Engineers (ISEE), a 501 (c)6 professional society, has an immediate opening for an experienced professional to take the position of Conference & Exhibits Manager. This position is responsible for the ISEE Annual Conference, coordinates partnerships in other industry events, ensures ISEE is represented at Chapter conferences, and ensures the overall growth of attendance, sponsors, exhibitors, and revenue for the ISEE Annual Conference.
ISEE represents approximately 4,000 members throughout the world. Conference attendance exceeds 1,500 registrants with nearly 30 percent coming from outside the United States.
Main responsibilities include:
Sponsor and exhibitor prospectuses and sales.
Selection and management of hotel and vendor contracts.
Conference program development, including the schedule of events, speakers, and registration fees.
Budget preparation, conference goals, metrics, and progress reports.
Managing the call for papers, abstract reviews, speaker selection, and paper submission process.
Working with the exhibit management company to create a compelling floor plan that showcases exhibitors and provides steady traffic flow.
Onsite conference management, staff and volunteer assignments, and providing a great experience for attendees, sponsors, exhibitors, and speakers.
Staffing ISEE Committees including the Conference Advisory Committee, Conference Planning Committee, and other committees as assigned.
Certified Meeting Planner designation (CMP) achieved, in process or other related education.
Minimum 5 years-experience planning conferences and exhibitions.
Experience creating and managing a $1M+ budget.
Background creating sponsor and exhibitor experiences.
History selling sponsorships, advertising, and exhibit space.
Must be able to work with WORD, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Zoom. Able to quickly learn iMIS, a2z Personify, and Open Water.
Strong relationship builder with internal and external partners.
Enjoys solving challenges and identifying solutions.
Ability to lead committee meetings and help committees define and meet annual goals.
Has great respect for the time, talent, and wisdom volunteers bring to the table.
This position reports directly to the Executive Director and works closely with ISEE staff to ensure conference and overall association success. Travel is required for this position.
Position may work remotely with quarterly travel to the ISEE office for staff meetings, summer Board of Directors strategic planning session, and assisting with shipping preparation for the Annual Meeting.
