You will be responsible for leading ASNT’s Global Certification Product Portfolio team, facilitating the long-term strategic vision for credentialing products, assuring alignment with our enterprise-level strategy as defined in ASNT’s Strategic Plan, and leading innovation to generate new credentials, digital tools, and innovative assessment products as well as go-to-market strategies. Key to your success will be assuring that our test candidate journeys align to customer experience strategies for both our B2C and B2B customers. You will monitor the performance of your product portfolio, looking at financial, psychometric, and market demand metrics, and lead decisions to retain and/or sunset assets based on agreed criteria. You will also partner with our volunteer leaders to localize GTM strategies, achieve optimal outcomes, and assure product performance globally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate the development of the Certification product portfolio roadmap, inclusive of all product or service assets aligned to long-term portfolio vision and organizational strategic objectives. Generate and promote the long-term portfolio vision to facilitate alignment within the portfolio and cross-functionally.
  • Lead the creation of new certification product concepts, leveraging best-in-class product design practices and best practices for credential development. Own the development of concepts, including integration of feedback from customers, stakeholders, and staff as well as prototype development.
  • Remain current on emerging testing trends and best-in-class assessment approaches; integrate as needed into portfolio design and decisions to keep ASNT at the forefront of emerging technologies and processes.
  • Assure staff works collaboratively across the organization and follows internal practices to assure alignment and readiness for product releases.
  • Manage and monitor portfolio performance to ensure outcome realization, integration across enterprises, and healthy financial and non-financial benefits.
  • Perform periodic reviews of portfolio for continued strategic alignment, leading reprioritization, adjustments to plans, and related temporary reallocation of resources as needed due to business change or critical operational demands.
  • Partner with and resolve differences between internal stakeholders, including senior levels, to align around go-to-market approaches that best support regional needs for global adoption.
  • Develop and manage overall portfolio budget, including collaboration with Finance and other Directors to assure sound financial performance, healthy profit margins, and financial targets. Lead the strategic portfolio forecasts with product owners to estimate future resource allocations based on organizational objectives and plans.
  • Lead the development of organization-wide product strategies for ASNT’s core segments, including cross-collaboration with Marketing and Communication, Membership and Engagement, Content Management, and Learning and Events, and external vendors to assure healthy progression through the sales funnel and adequate adoption rates.
  • Negotiate with vendors, external stakeholders, and internal leaders, in partnership with internal teams responsible for procurement processes, to assure best-value procurement for needed services and optimal outcomes aligned to organization objectives.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or relevant STEM field; graduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years’ progressively responsible leadership experience, with emphasis in a global business environment involving complex initiatives and evolving industries.
  • Minimum 10 years’ product management experience; demonstrated success leading large department and getting results.
  • Minimum of seven years’ experience managing commercial certification programs.
  • Highly developed meeting facilitation, consultative and team leadership abilities; proven success in building strong cross-functional relationships
  • Deep understanding of accountability, results-based leadership, and product development/management approaches to motivate teams, with the ability to innovate and promote innovative exploration of new concepts
  • Experience working in a compliance-driven environment and aligning work products with ISO, ANSI and regional regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to innovate and promote innovation exploring new concepts to driving go-to-market execution
  • Experience of working in an agile, dynamic, and customer-centric environment; demonstrated results-oriented execution style and growth mindset
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Experience working in multi-cultural business environments
  • English proficiency is required.
