Primary Purpose:

 

Responsible for developing and managing NEI's membership development programs. Administers programs and services to market to and attract new members, serves as membership liaison for NEI conferences and events. Defines member value proposition and in partnership with the NEI Communication division, creates materials and tools supportive of membership department goals.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Membership:

  • Develop and pursue aggressive member recruitment strategy; develop and implement programs to continually assess members' needs; determine and provide appropriate membership services; inform members and potential members about NEI's programs and accomplishments and effectively communicate the value of NEI membership.

 

  • Develop and communicate membership research and business development program to include new markets, possible dues structures and outreach initiatives.

 

  • Partner with the Communications Division on developing and implementing a membership marketing strategy to include crafting and guiding the member experience.

 

  • Conduct research and implement member surveys to help NEI improve its member products and services.

 

  • Monitor member/market trends which may impact NEI’s financial status and address promptly with NEI senior leadership. Develop strategies to address these impacts.

 

  • Prepare periodic membership status reports on membership marketing initiatives and their results.

 

  • Integrate the activities and products of other NEI departments for membership development purposes.

 

  • Identify opportunities and develop programs to increase revenue for organization.

 

Other Duties:

 

  • Co-lead the Non-dues Revenue Team to ensure a pipeline of innovative product ideas from throughout the organization.

 

  • Support the membership needs of NEI’s flagship annual conference – the Nuclear Energy Assembly.

 

Job Specifications:

 

Minimum of seven years’ experience in membership and/or marketing with an association.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

 

  • Ability to organize, analyze and attend to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to strategize projects and achieve deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in order to interact with executive management, external audiences and member representatives.
  • Logical, analytical thinking with an ability to set priorities.
  • Ability to prioritize and work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to utilize an association management system (preferable Impexium).
  • Strong aptitude for developing and communicating strategic metrics, including the development and use of dashboards.

 

Education:

 

College degree with master’s degree preferred.
