As the Associate Director, People Operations (POps) and Employee Experience (EX), you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day aspects of the employee life cycle to include recruiting & onboarding, HRIS management, payroll, benefit administration, employee relations & engagement, performance management, and offboarding processes. You are a natural collaborator and enjoy developing talent. You will serve as a coach to the Generalist, People Operations & Talent Acquisition team member, who will support you with the day-to-day responsibilities. In this role you will ensure that the organization meets all regulatory requirements related to hiring, separation, harassment & discrimination claims, payroll & benefits administration, and other record keeping.
 
Under the guidance of the Chief People Officer, the incumbent will focus on facilitating an excellent employee experience and will co-lead the organization’s diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to foster an environment of belonging. The Associate Director will have opportunities to work strategically with the Chief People Officer (CPO) with reference to workforce planning, culture re-branding, and designing new employment practices, policies, and programs that are aligned with our cultural shift towards strengthening cross functional collaboration to support our new strategic projects.
 
What you'll bring to the job:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field is desired
  • 5+ years of broad generalist experience in an exempt level HR role, and people management experience, strong knowledge of and direct experience in benefits & compensation administration, HRIS systems, and oversight & management of payroll, talent acquisition strategies, and performance management
  • A thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations is required
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and understanding of the importance of confidentiality, diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Ability to listen objectively to help resolve conflicts within and across teams
  • Demonstrated experience developing people-oriented policies and practices with a clear equity and inclusion lens
  • Ability to connect with people, build strong relationships and bring about solutions
  • A track record of establishing yourself as a trusted advisor  
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment as a member of a team
  • PHR certification is highly desired

What you'll own:
 
Talent Acquisition & Retention
  • Lead the overall management of the recruitment and selection process with a focus on a positive candidate experience
  • Strategize and implement recruitment strategies, participate in interviews, and screen candidates for open positions
  • Draft and present candidates’ offer of employment letters and follow-up as necessary  
  • Manage and execute programs to onboard and train new employees
  • Assist the Chief People Officer with employee engagement strategies, with a focus to optimize the employee experience 
  • Administer employee pulse surveys and engagement surveys, and collaborate with the People team to diagnose areas for improvement, including team interventions, coaching, and developing talent
Benefits, HRIS, and Payroll Management
  • Support the Chief People Officer with annual benefit renewals and work closely with our benefits consultant to execute open enrollment communication, HRIS configuration, tracking, and annual reporting 
  • Serve as the first point of contact for all employee benefits issues, including communicating and interpreting benefits changes and policies 
  • Manage and administer all employee leave programs, including FMLA, DC FMLA, DC PFL, LTD, ADA, and FFCRA
  • Manage vendor partner relationships and perform data collection for FSA, COBRA, retirement plan TPA, and medical insurance carriers
  • In collaboration with the HR Generalist, manage and configure all technical components of the HRIS
  • Manage our outsourced payroll processing vendor and ensure accuracy of pay changes, as well as ensuring the timeliness of payroll and reporting for Finance
  • Oversee the Time and Labor System, including reviewing timesheets, cost centers, and PTO for compliance and accuracy
  • Collect data for annual 403(b) audit, non-discrimination testing, and implementation of annual disclosures
Policies, Procedures, and Employee Relations
  • Collaborate with the Chief People Officer to develop processes and total rewards programs that engage and inspire employees at all levels, with a keen focus on an optimal employee experience
  • Co-lead the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programs and collaborate with CPO to examine policies and practices to ensure DEI within all aspects of Endocrine Society employment practices
  • Coaches/consults with managers and employees on employee relations matters to include performance, terminations, harassment, discrimination, etc.  Interprets and complies with all state and federal laws 
Reporting & Compliance
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on state and federal laws and implement policies appropriately
  • Serve as internal officer for affirmative action planning to develop equal opportunity programs and measurements for milestone tracking and goal achievements. Oversee plan setup, data collection and compliance reporting
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment laws and is responsible for compliance reporting
