CMI, the association management division of MJH Life Sciences, provides trusted and dynamic management services for associations, foundations, and non-profits in the healthcare field.  CMI manages the Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC)- the leading education and advocacy organization for the cancer care community and the Oncology State Societies at ACCC- a network of 22 Chapters that provide a state- and regional-level focus into the complexities of cancer delivery.

 SUMMARY:    

The role of the Vice President, Content is to support the scientific creation and development of medical education (with a specialized focus in oncology and comprehensive cancer care services). The Vice President, Content will be expected to collaborate with team members in creating and reviewing both print and digital deliverables while interacting with leading expert clinician advisors.

This position requires attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to write, edit, and review original clinical and operational/care delivery manuscripts, integrate the comments of multiple reviewers into manuscripts and final project deliverables, and independently develop clinical content and potential new educational program concepts.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with educational project deliverables and clinical oversight of ongoing educational programs and initiatives
  • Become an expert in assigned disciplines with respect to clinical development and literature regarding products, technology, and multidisciplinary care team responsibilities
  • Create and/or review slide decks for educational programs, congress symposia, advisory boards, and other key external scientific communications and medical information deliverables
  • Ensure all project-related publications and scientific communications are aligned with membership needs and clients’ educational and/or advocacy strategy, scientifically accurate and balanced, and in compliance with industry guidelines
  • Assist Program Management and Editorial teams in content development and review for multiple projects and initiatives
  • Serve as a resource for representatives of Marketing and Membership teams on all clinical- and/or operational-oriented messaging and deliverables
  • Other responsibilities may be delegated by the Vice President, Operations

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of an advanced life sciences degree, required. PhD or PharmD, preferred
  • 8+ years of relevant experience working in cancer clinical practice, the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, and/or medical/scientific affairs or a medical writing role
  • Scientific knowledge and experience in oncology is preferred

 SKILLS

  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical industry laws, FDA and international regulations, and guidelines regarding medical information, scientific material review & management, and scientific communications
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with external experts, investigators, journal editors and publishers and professional organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to present complex scientific and medical information to a range of audiences including scientists & researchers, patient advocates, key opinion leaders (KOLs), payers, and policy influencers
  • Proactive individual with ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with high performing colleagues
  • Ability to work independently, analyze and work with attention to detail, process and prioritize complex information, and problem solve
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) proficiency and the ability to learn new systems
